IDEA FOR A CLASS PROJECT ON EUROPE

Aim: increase pupils’ knowledge of Europe and the EU.

Time needed: two 40 minute lessons in ICT room or two homeworks.

Assign a European country to each member of your class. Ask them to do some internet research. They have to produce an A4 mini poster on the country which must include the following elements:

• Map, with location in Europe
• Population
• Languages spoken
• Religions
• Type of government
• Main geographical features (e.g. size, mountains, rivers)
• Main industries
• Main agricultural produce
• Any famous contemporary or historical figures
• Any culinary specialities

Posters will be laminated by the school and form part of a display on Europe.
