P.D.O. stands for Preceding Direct Object. This is when we add an agreement to the past participle of a compound tense verb when the object of the verb comes before it.
Exemples:
Voilà la femme que j’ai vue l’autre jour.
Ce sont les livres que j’avais empruntés à la bibliothèque.
Tu as écouté cette cassette? Je l’ai achetée hier.
1. It was the final response he received.
2. Have you seen my wife? I left her in the restaurant.
3. I gave you the CDs I bought this morning.
4. Here are the menus I prepared for you earlier.
5. Did you receive the letter I wrote to you?
6. These are the girls I met when I was on holiday.
7. What an invention! Have you seen it?
8. There are a few details I would have mentioned.
9. The essay I wrote was brilliant.
10. Did you get the E-mails I sent?
11. It’s the highest mountain I have ever seen. (careful – subjunctive!)
12. Is that the girl I saw at the cinema last night?
