LANGUAGE TEACHING BLOGS

Blogs and wikis seem to come and go, but here are some up to date and interesting blogs. If you have a good, regularly updated blog or wiki please send me your link and I'll add it to my list. Blogs are so easy to set up. The most popular "platforms" are Blogger (from Google), Typepad, Edublogs and Wordpress. Some blogs are aimed at students, some at fellow teachers, some at both.
Integrating ICT into the MFL classroom (UK) by Joe Dale is the best starting point for ideas about exploiting the latest ICT technologies. The site is not specific to French.
ICT for Language Teachers is Graham Davies's blog. It does what it says on the tin. NEW 10.1.10
Box of Tricks focuses on ICT in language teaching and is hosted by José Picardo. NEW 10.1.10
Frenchteacher (UK) is my French language record of French-related stuff which interests me, sometimes news-based, sometimes reflective, sometimes diary-style.
Blogalpha is a page I maintain for an able class of Y10 pupils whose contributions sometimes feature. NEW 9.1.10
So to speak is Robert Green's blog in which he suggests good resources for his pupils in Saltash, Cornwall. This is a nice working example of how you can communicate with your students through the medium of a blog.
The All Saints Languages Blog is run by Suzi Bewell from the All Saints School in York. Suzi does interesting work on phonics in language learning.Fun blog.
Marie-France Perkins' blog is called Sans Problème (UK). Regularly updated, very varied with lots of student work.
The brilliantly namedChevaliers du Château des Champions (USA) is Andrea (Mme) Henderson's Texas-based blog. Very interactive and lively with some great ideas.
Le Blog (UK) is from Jeff Chadd at Barrow Sixth Form College. Features mainly videos for older learners.
Talkabout Primary MFL is worth a look. NEW 10.1.10
Thirsk Languages is from Thirsk School in North Yorkshire. NEW 15.1.10
Alice's Posterous is a mixture of personal and professional reflections. It also includes some good recipes! NEW 21.1.10
My Languages (UK) shows Isabelle Jones's enthusiasm for new communication technologies.
Kate's site (UK) from Kate Scappaticci has a blog, links, resources and pupils contributions. Very lively.
The Langwitch Chronicles (UK) by Helena Butterfield is a beautifully honest, quite personal blog about language teaching, with good professional links too.
Dom's MFL page is a regularly updated blog with all sorts of interesting posts.
SHopkins' Language Blog by Stephanie Hopkins from a high school in Ilford (east London) has a lively French blog with links, resources and personal refelections.
Northgate - The Blog (UK) from Northgate High School, Suffolk has diary-style entries as well as links and resources. There is also a wiki and Blag's blog by Alex Blagona from the same school.
Languages at Northgate is another one!
Mme Henderson (USA) has good links in amongst the tweets!
West Kent Primary Languages Blog (UK) by Esther Hardman has lots of news and latest intiatives, with an emphasis on early learners.
Crack the Code is Esther Hardman's personal blog about language teaching.
Changing Phase is from Clare Seccombe in the Sunderland area. Focus on primary. NEW 9.1.10

Lisa Stevens has a blog called iVamonos! relating to primary. NEW 9.1.10
Etre à la Page is Zachary Jones's new blog which features material on youth culture (e.g. music videos with short articles in French). NEW 26.1.10
FSL Mania (USA) is a diary-style blog with good teaching ideas and links.
Souffler (UK) by Mark Purves has good ideas and links for the primary teacher, some of which are also relevant at secondary level.
Chiltern Edge School (UK) has a blog run by Saira Ghani. It includes examples of student work in French and German, plus comments from Saira and her pupils, with good links..
Languages and Learning (UK) is run by Amanda Salt from Grosvenor Grammar School who is a Spanish sp,ecialist but whose blog has ideas for language teaching generally.
French with Madame Dyck (USA) is by Susie Dyck's from Northview, Iowa. It's useful for its links to other exercises, particularly Quia games.
Royds School (UK) is a good example of a blog which mainly features students' work.
Learner Evolution (UK) from Chris Harte is a funny and useful blog in which Chris shares his interest in web technology.
Lingua@com (UK) from Rachel Hawkes has lots of latest news in the field.
Helen Myers (UK) from Ashcombe School keeps us up to date with the latest issues. Good links to other people too.
Vamonos (UK) is from Lisa Stevens in Sutton Coldfield. She is a Spanish specialist working at primary level, but her blog has plenty of crossover to languages generally.
Les Notes Françaises (Fr). This one is different. René Smit maintains this blog which has nothing but clips of French music from the past and present.
