CILT (National Centre for Languages).This is a key hub for a number of English inititiatives and forums. It has recently merged with the CfBT Education Trust.
Ofqual. This body regulates examinations, qualifications and assessments in England.
The Languages Company was set up by Lid King in 2008. "The Languages Company is committed to continuing work in support of a coherent approach to languages and multilingualism in our society."
QCDA. The Qualifications and Curriculum Develeopment Agency. This site will close in the autumn of 2011 as a result of government cuts.
Association for Language Learning is the major subject association for language teachers in the UK.
Talkabout Primary MFL (UK) is an interactive network for MFL teachers at primary level.
Why study languages? (UK) is part of the Routes into Languages initiative (see below). A good source for reasons to study languages.
The TES Connect site is a major area for shared resources and ideas.
MFL Resources is a Yahoo user group with over 3500 members, mainly, but not all British. You can join from the linked page.
British Council SchoolsOnline. The British Council supports and accredits collaboration between schools and advocates global citizenship for young people worldwide.

Specialist Schools and Academies Trust. There is a specialist Language College section for which you have to register.
The Society for French Studies.
Modern Foreign Languages Environment (Scot) is Scotland's hub, part of Curriculum for Excellence.
Glow (Scot). "Glow is the world's first national intranet for education." You have to live in Scotland to sign up and share resources.
Scottish CILT (Scot). A national centre for information on language teaching and research based at Strathclyde University.
