Parallel gapped translation on the topic of divorce. Women explain why they divorced or thought of it. In this exercise students must complete both the French and English versions of the same text.
Text and questions in English about the eruption of Mont Pelée in Martinique in 1902. I knew nothing about this disaster which killed 28000 French people, until we visited Martinique recently and saw the mountain from the sea.
Two new crosswords in the Y10-11 section (environment and travel). These use easy short sentences or phrases to be translated into French. Useful for translation revision. No answers given for these, I'm afraid. The crossword designer programme I use (armoredpenguin.com) makes it difficult. They would mainly suit Foundation Tier GCSE.
