Another 'faulty transcript' listening task where students listen to a text and correct their version of the transcript. This is based on a page from the Quebec government and talks about diversity, equity and inclusion in Quebec. Good for Y13. CEFR B2.

A second 'faulty transcript' task for A-level. Topic: blended families in France. This one would best suit Y12, but could be used in Y13. There are two scripts, one for the teacher, and a different one for students. There are 15 differences to locate and fix. I have created an MP3 file you could use, if preferred. CEFR B1.

I've uploaded the first of several 'faulty transcript' tasks for A-level. The idea is that the teacher reads a text aloud to the class who has a different version of the transcript. Students must idetify and write in the differences. This is, by the way, a good way to develop the skill of paraphrasing. This one is about Belgium's cultural heritage and would suit a Y13 class. CEFR B2.

I have updated a document on the Y9 page. It's a set of vocab lists by topic which can be cut out for pupils to stick in their exercise books (if they use those). Originally written to go with the Tricolore course, but I have supplemented them. Definitely NOT all high-frequency in GCSE terms!

Video listening. A report about the Mont-St-Michel from France 24/YouTube abou the Mont-St-Michel. True/false, then incorrect statements to put right. Answers and transcript provied. I got Chat GPT and ScribeTube (for the trasncript) to help with this. Good for Y13 or a very fast Y12. CEFR B2.

A video listening task. I used the AI tool ScribeTube to provide a transcript of a young woman talking about her last weekend. I then created gaps for most of the vebrs (focus mainly on perfect tense). CEFR A2. Good for Higher GCSE.

, Y9 (Low intermediate)

A lesson plan for Y9 based on a restaurant menu and dialogue between a customer and a waiter. The teacher explains the menu, reads aloud the dialogue, then in pairs students read and adapt the dialogue. Some choral repetition could be included. A good opportunity to share information and stories about French food and restaurants. CEFR A2.

With LGBTQ+ attacks on the rise in France in 2024, this is a video listening task based on a short France Info report from 2023. Each sentence given has three options for sentence completion. Play at 0.75 speed if preferred. CEFR B1/2.
