Text and exercises entitled Ma meilleure copine. Intermediate level text (excellent Y9 to Y11). Vocabulary list to complete, false sentenves to correct, gapfill, oral and written exploitation.
Prévert's Déjeuner du matin. Presented as parallel reading with exercises, link to short Youtube film and ideas for small group work. The film could be shown before or after reading the poem. I have placed this in the Y11 section, but could be used at advanced level or with adults.
Top 10 sea movies for children. Reading task for high intermediate/low advanced. 10 short summaries with a target language matching task. Vocabulary list to complete and vocab brainstrom. Good for easy AS level. Could be done with Y11.
Text and exercises on e-cigarettes. The World Health Organisation has just released a report which recommends banning use of e-cigs in enclosed public spaces. Article, vocabulary, questions for oral/written exploitation, translation. You'll find this in the A-level and Adults pages.
Lesson plan for teaching school subjects to near beginners (Y6-Y8). This is a teaching sequence taking about 40 minutes with optional homework or follw-up in ICT room. Good example of teaching clearly in the target language.
Video listening. Yannick Noah song Aux arbres citoyens. You can guess the topic. Simple gap fill for A-level.
Video listening. The song Frontières by Yannick Noah. Catchy little utopian number about difference. Gap fill with words provided, so quite accessible. Conversation suggestion added at the end of the sheet. You could try it with a very good Y11 group, but designed with lower sixth in mind (low advanced).
Video listening for advanced level. Air pollution. This short video from AFP/Youtube explains the science of air pollution and its effects on humans. It is fast, but clear. I have done questions in French with a vocabulary list to complete. Teachers' answers are given. I have also listed this task in the Adults section. I somehow feel the "s" is needed in "adults".
Video listening based on a short, but fast report on the International Space Station from AFP/Youtube. The speed of the recording may make it better for A2 (advanced) level. True/false/not mentioned exercise, plus suggestions for oral work. I have stored this in both the A-level and Adults section.
