An official letter. This resource may be based on a similar letter I received from a tax office in France. One for adult students. Questions in English.

Video listening on stereotypes. Easy presentation of what stereotypes are. This would work well with low advanced students and opens up discussion on the issue. This worksheet has true statements to identify, a little translation and some pre-listening discussion. The sheet links to an online video from 1jour1actu (Vimeo), which has other videos of a similar level.
Parallel reading for near beginners/primary/Y7. Topic: sharks! True/false, cognates to highlight and vocabulary list to fill in.
Video listening for intermediate level: funny talking animals. This sheet links to two of those amusing voiced over in French pet videos. Students have to identify the sentences used by the pets. These are really quite funny. I've put the sheet in the Y9 section, but you could use it up to A-level for a bit of fun and some everyday, borderline vulgar, language.
Parallel reading for near beginners: the blue whale. Tick off the true sentences in French, highlight cognates and complete a vocabulary list. The blue whale weighs the equivalent of about 12 cars. Biggish fellow.
Parallel reading and exercices for near beginners: my mum (or mom if you prefer). Easy text, English on the right, true/false/not mentioned and writing task. There are now 15 parallel reading tasks on the primary/Y7 page.
Article and exercises on xenophobia in France. Following the European parliament elections and dismaying success of xenophophobic political parties, I have put together a good text with vocabulary, discussion, gapfill and translation. This would work well with AS level students returning after exams, or just keep in the file for A2 level. The resource would work well with advanced adult students too.
Parallel reading for near beginners. "My friend". Simple description with English translation based on a 10 year old. True/flase/not mentioned exercises and simple writing task. I have done two versions, one for a male friend, the other female. This should simplify adjective use. The tasks can be used with primary or Y7.
Parallel reading for near beginners: daily routine. Pupils tick off the true sentences in French and complete sentences to decribe their own routine at a very basic level. The routine fits primary (elementary) children best.
A list of variations on traditional number bingo. All of these require little or no advance preparation. Note that I have been building up the beginners' resources with primary French teachers in mind.
