Advanced grammar. Two dice boardgames games requiring converting sentences from active to passive and vice versa. Various tenses. CEFR B1.

, Y8 (Very low intermediate)

A simple read-aloud retrieval starter for near-beginners (Y7 or Y8). Students see a grid of gapped statements about school subjects. The teacher reads a statement which is the opoosite of the one of the gapped sentences in the grid. As a variation, the teacher could ask a question instead of giving a contradictory statement. CEFR A1.

, Y12-13 (Advanced)

A text with exercises about a new government initiative to counter bullying in schools. Pre-reading questions, text, vocab to find, questions in French, morphological work, gap-fill of a paraphrased version of the text (courtesy of ChatGPT). Good for a fast Y12 or a Y13 class. May be a sensitive issue. CEFR B1/2.

, Y10-11 (Intermediate)

I have added the ability on the Y10-11 page to scroll more quickly to your chosen section, e.g. grammar, video listening, dilaogues, sentence builders. As the site has grown, each page has become lengthier, so it's harder to find what you need quickly. I had previously made this possible on the A-Level page. Feedback is welcome on the functionality of the site.

, Y9 (Low intermediate)

An easy to administer bingo game based on clothing vocab. Full list to display and repeat, then 10 different cards to hand out. (You could easilty add more.) CEFR A1.

, Y7 (Beginner)

A starter for beginners. 'Translate with prompts.' There are four slides to choose from, each with nine easy sentences to translate into French. The first letter of each word in French is given to help. Edit as you please. Answers given. This is a written accuract exercises. CEFR A1.

, Y8 (Very low intermediate)

A starter for Y8. 'Complete the table.' 5 grids, each with three columns (infinitive, first person singular and a sentence to create). Editable, with suggestions on how to use the grids. CEFR A1.

, Y12-13 (Advanced)

A video report about a girl removed from school for fear of bullying, and how a recent high-profile suicide may have influenced the revised decision of the education authority. Questions in French. Vocab to note. answers given. CEFR B1/2.

, Y7 (Beginner)

A simple text (with parallel translation) and exercises. 'My school.' Correct sentences to identify, faulty sentences to correct, questions in French (with prompts), gap-fill with options, writing task and paired spoken retrieval. CEFR A1. This might also suit some Y8 classes.

, Y9 (Low intermediate)

I have uploaded another sentence builder-based lesson plan to the Y9 collection. This one is on healthy living. There is a sentence builder, a gapped sentence builder and a detailed sequence of possible activities. This would work with Y9 and Y10. CEFR A2.
