Intermediate video listening. This is a 'portrait d'enfant' video from Arte. Yayi in Togo. The task is to complete sentences with missing words. A box of options is provided, though you could omit these with really fast classes. Another glimpse of a culture alien to most learners. The stilt dancing is amazing! CEFR A2.

Video listening. A report about people who cannot easily use the internet - 'illectronisme'. A short report, questions in French to answer. Good for AQA topic of cyber-society. Answers given CEFR B1/2.

Text with exercises. About the state of French film industry - unprofitable movies, huge subsidies, rising ticket prices. (Mind you - it's cheapre to go to the movies in France than the UK.) Text, vocab to find, notes to take, lexical work, oral and written summary. One for y13, not Y12, unless they are brilliant. CEFR B2.

Video listening. A second new 'portrait d'enfant' video listening worksheet. This one is about the life of a 10 year-old Afghan girl. False sentences to correct. CEFR A2. A good Y9 class could do this, as with the previous one I posted.

Video listening. I have added a new 'portrait d'enfant' video. This is called Prince au Ghana - prince is a young boy who describes his family, village and school - and is an easy listen. False sentences to correct. I intend to add a few more from the series to replace the older ones which Arte unpublished. CEFR A2.

I have been going through 'video listening' worksheet links on the Y10-11 page, changing any where necessary. Alas, ARTE have unpublished many of their 'Portrait d'enfant' videos, so those worksheets have been removed. A shame, as those videos are really good. I have made an addition to an A-level text with exercises. I added a morphology exercise. The effect of new technologies on family life.

A PowerPoint lesson. 'Spotty va au marché.' 12 different fruit and veg covered. Whole lesson sequence including repetition, memory recall (Kim's game), translation, gap-fill, pair games. CEFR A1.

A sentence builder (plus a gapped version of the same) using "Je vais + infinitive". Suggestions for use are provided. This would work with a fast Y8 group too. CEFR A1/2.
