10 reading aloud passages (Higher Tier) with questions in preparation for the new GCSE (first teaching 2024).
In anticipation of the new GCSE in England (and maybe for general use), I have written 10 short passages for reading aloud, in exam board style, and produced an MP3 text-to-speech recording to go with them. Students could practise the passages, listen as you read aloud or play the recording. This batch is at FOUNDATION TIER. Scroll down the Y10-11 page, right-hand column. CEFR A2.
A phonics bingo game. Each students get a card with 12 words. Each word has a different, highlighted, vowel sound-spelling correspondence. The teacher reads out sounds (phonemes) and student cross out any word they see with that sound in bold in their words. Instructions are provided. CEFR A1.
