I have updated an A-level resource on the decline of marriage in France. This is to remove some out of date statistics and replace with a new figure from 2022. I shall be checking other older texts for contemporary relevance and accuracy.

A 'spot the errors' starter with pictures. 10 slides, each one with a picture and 8 sentences to correct. Teacher suggestions provided. CEFR A1.

A written drill on the pluperfect tense. 12 sentences given in the perfect tense. Students write a sentence to say what had happened before. This could be used at A-level to revise the pluperfect. CEFR A2.

A starter called 'Make a 10-word sentence'. Students see a set of slides, each with a phrase. They must include the phrase in a 10-word sentence. Feel free to edit the slides or change the number of words (or just don't have a limit!). Having the word limit makes it more fun, but may mean they spend too much time counting words! CEFR A2.

'Finish my sentence'. A listening and vocab retrieval starter/filler/plenary. Read aloud the sentences and students supply the missing word orally, on paper or on a mini-whiteboard (best). Edit to suit your class's knowledge. CEFR A1.
