Four snakes and ladders-style dice boardgames. In each box students must translate simple sentences into French. Every sentence features perfect tense verbs. This could be used with good Y9 classes. You could do these in pairs, or in groups of three with one student acting as an expert referee. As always, you can edit these to make them easier or harder. CEFR A2. An advanced parallel gapped translation. the text is about the Marsoulas massacre during the occupation of France in the Second World war. The parallel texts have different gaps. The aim is to complete both gapped versions. Google Translate-proof! (CEFR B1/2)
A text with exercises for near-beginners (A1). 'Ma ville' - a description of La Rochelle in France, followed by correct sentences to spot, questions and a gap-fill with options. Pupils can then write their own description using the model text. A full translation is provided as an optional extra.
