A short text with exercises based on a story from the Daily Mail (quelle horreur!)and picked up by the excellent Daily Geek Show In a study it was found that men's beards contain more bacteria than a dog's coat. Text, vocab to find, true/false and summary in English.

A sentence builder frame. "Je suis allé(e) à la plage". Comes with a suggested teaching sequence and gapped version of the sentence builder. Usable with Y9.

A listening vocabulary game. Climb the wall. You read definitions of sports as pupils make their way along or up the grid you have given them. All you need is on the print-off sheet, including instructions and definitions you can use or adapt. This could be used with a very good Y9 class too.

A 'narrow reading' exercise about Futuroscope with Tripadvisor-style comments. Matching (who said?), find the French, gap-fill and translation. Answers given. Could be used with Y10.

PowerPoint presentation: une visite à Bruxelles. A set of 12 slides showing sites in Brussels, with and without text, plus all slides together and whole written text + gapped text. Narrative in perfect tense.

Translate-transcribe. Te ressembler, a wistful 2020 song by Francis Cabrel about his father. The exercise is to listen and translate an English version of the song back into the original French. Possible stimulus for conversations about relationships with parents.
