Another easy sentence builder frame, this time about using technology (phones and computers). As with the others there is a suggested teaching sequence. One teacher has been adding letter codes for each column/box.

A beginner's conversation for adult students. Meeting someone in the street. Listen, read aloud in pairs, then adapt to your own needs by changing underlined items. Translation provided.
Two new video listening tasks. (1) A very clear short report about a woman, Jacqueline Fleury, who was in the French Resistance, then deported to a concentration camp. She recounts some memories herself. Gap-fill, oral summary and vocab to note down. (2) A brief history of the Résistance with questions in English.
I have added five easy "sentence builder frames" in the Y8 section (school, last weekend, next weekend, pastimes and holidays). These are designed to be accessible to ALL ABILITIES. I am planning to add more of this type of easier resource (partly in response to member feedback). Each sentence frame comes with a suggested teaching sequence for using it.
A text with exercises about a primary school introducing school uniform in Seine-et-Marne. Vocab to complete, correct sentences to spot, "Find the French", paired oral work and written summary. Suitable for the first year of an A-level course or AS-level (Edexcel sub-theme). It's a slightly tired topic, but one which can get classes talking and provides in this case some cultural knowledge (AO4).
Video listening. A report from France 2 about an initiative to get young homeless people back into the job market. Gap-fill, translation of words and phrases, oral and written summary. Answers given.
An intermediate narrow reading task. Six short paragraphs with various exercises on the topic "How well do you sleep?" As well as reading, this offers opportunities for reading aloud, speaking and writing.
Video listening. A 59 second report from France 2 about the advance of French in the world, notably in Africa. A short list of words to help, then a scaffolded gap-fill and translation into English. Would suit Higher Tier GCSE (intermediate). Answers provided as usual.
Video listening. This is a report about a new initiative for reforming the French prison system. The exercise is to compare written sentences with what is actually said, underline and replace incorrect words. Opportunity for oral discussion too. This fits with an AQA A-level syllabus sub-theme.
