Intermediate reading. This is an adapted short fait divers about a cat saved from the flames and resuscitated with a child's oxygen mask by firefighters. Aah! Easy reading, vocabulary to find and questions in English. Good for Y9 or Y10.

, Y10-11 (Intermediate)

Intermediate/GCSE video listening. Peppa pig returns! This time it's one about making pancakes. Guess who is not very good at it! The sheet is linked, as usual, to an online video. Short vocab list provided, correct sentences to identify and vocab to complete. You could show it in class (Youtube access needed) or give the sheet for pupils to do for homework.

Video listening for advanced level or adult students. Béatrice talks about her job as a special needs teacher working in Bayeux, Normandy. Questions in French and a vocabulary list to complete. Good, clear recording. For adults it could be a good stimulus for them to talk about their work.

Prévert's Déjeuner du matin. Presented as parallel reading with exercises, link to short Youtube film and ideas for small group work. The film could be shown before or after reading the poem. I have placed this in the Y11 section, but could be used at advanced level or with adults.

Top 10 sea movies for children. Reading task for high intermediate/low advanced. 10 short summaries with a target language matching task. Vocabulary list to complete and vocab brainstrom. Good for easy AS level. Could be done with Y11.
