Lesson plan to teach daily routine. This uses miming, pair work, memorisation and writing. Good for Y8 or easy Y9/10 revision.

Worksheet and information on prepositions to use before towns and countries. Students work out the rules from examples and do gap fill. Easy to do oral work based on the sheet.

Listening and speaking lesson based on three short films from a French government site about bullying in schools. The short films should promote plenty of speaking; the listening component is secondary in this case (and hard). Would work well with a good AS level group or A2 group and ought to fill a 40 minute lesson. See the A-level page (listening resources).

New worksheets on être and avoir for beginners. Re-ordering words to make good sentences, then making up more examples. You can sing these conjugations to the Mission Impossible theme (just). Aller works even better.

Thank you to Jane O'Sullivan from Ireland who sent me a gapfill listening task based on the Edith Piaf classic Je ne regrette rien. Gaps chosen to focus on negatives and the perfect tense. This is also on the free samples page. I have posted it on the A-level page, but good intermediate groups could also do it.

Listening gap fill. Song Derniers baisers (Sealed with a Kiss tune) by Laurent Voulzy. Easy work on a simple song, but could be done as a 20 minute filler during holidays topic. I've included a suggestion for oral follow-up.

Film review of Gravity with exercises - vocabulary list, grammar task, true/false/not mentioned, oral work. Good for AS level (low advanced).

Imperfect tense homework activity. Students interview a grand-parent, parent or teacher about their early life. I've put this in the Y9 section under the heading Imperfect Tense, but it could be done with older students.Good linguistic and family bonding task!
